Scenes from a Holiday

December 28, 2010

Here’s what this year’s holiday looked like in the lifeinamericana household:

There was snow. Lots and lots of snow. Nearly 9″ fell on Christmas Eve day.

There were also goodies. Lots and lots of goodies:

Pretzel Peppermint Bark

A battalion of gingerbread boys

Sugar cookies

Fancy Christmas bows (which lasted about a whole 10 minutes in her hair)

Attempts at getting a nice photo of the kiddos by the tree (this is about the best of the lot)

There were Christmas jammies (and cheese faces)

And a visit from Santa in the middle of the night

Even I got something pretty in my stocking

There were presents to open on Christmas morning

And stockings to dig through

There was a new pink tricycle for the kidlet, with matching Princess helmet

And a Princess baby doll – the best of two worlds! Girlfriend raked in on the Disney princess loot.

And even a Christmas miracle – the sharing of toys (though it didn’t last terribly long).

I think I’ve finally recovered from Christmas. The house is mostly picked up, the toys are mostly put away and the goodies are mostly eaten. Now, on to the new year!
