It’s almost Christmas

December 21, 2011

and there’s still no snow.

There’s a story about that in a Richard Scarry Christmas storybook we had growing up. All the townspeople were worried that there would be no snow for Christmas, but, luckily, some fell just in time on Christmas Eve.

I don’t think we’re going to be that lucky here. Aside from the inch of snow we got early on in December (which promptly melted about a week later when the temps got up into the 40s) we have had zero snow up here. And aren’t looking to have any for this weekend, either. Quite a change from last year where at least 6 inches fell all day long on Christmas Eve.

Despite having the house decorated and listening to the Folk Holidays Pandora station all the live long day (much to the hub’s annoyance) it doesn’t feel much like Christmas to me when it still looks like mid-November out the window.

The kids are still excited, which is really all that matters, right? At least they haven’t asked how Santa can use his sleigh without snow.
