Another summer…

June 12, 2012

another bird’s nest in our hanging flower basket outside our front door.

Last year we had a robin’s nest in our hanging basket. This year I think it’s a house wren. The eggs have been there about a week or so, and we’re watching them (closely from a distance, if that makes sense) to see when they’ll hatch.

The wrens don’t seem quite as scolding as the robins were when someone comes to the door or I have to water my plant. They just fly away for a while, whereas the robins would fly a bit away and then stand there chirping loudly, just to insure we knew they were watching us.

The kids and I had fun watching the baby robins hatch and grow last year, hopefully it’ll be just as fun to watch the wrens grow, too.
